The northern protein structure workshop has been running for 17 years. Like any meeting of its sort we aim to increase communication between our laboratories through the informal exchange of results and techniques. However, we also hope that by providing a relaxed and friendly atmosphere we can encourage the younger members of our labs to present their results and contribute to the discussions. Therefore, we would ask that all students submit a title for a talk, remembering that work in progress is very much welcome and often stimulates the best discussions.

This is our fourth year in Hadrian's wall county and the city of Carlisle (after leaving our beloved Galashiels in 2006) .
