Pressure Perturbation Calorimetry of Protein Unfolding in Methanol - Water Mixtures :
|
The aim of the work is to investigate changes in expansivity and volume accompanying protein unfolding by using different model proteins (such as ubiquitin, lysozyme etc.). By using methanol - water mixtures the solvent ordering effect can be decreased, thus insight into protein solvation under these specific conditions can be gained and the importance of hydrophobic interaction in stabilising protein folded states investigated.
