MANGANESE(II), MANGANESE(IV) MIXED VALENCE DIMER

Crystal structure of the mixed valence, hydrogen bridged dimer formed when Mn(II) reacts with LH₃ [LH₃ = 1S,4S,7S-tris(hydroxypropyl)1,4,7-triazacyclononane] in air.

The left hand half of the dimer is a pseudo-octahedral complex of Mn(IV) with deprotonated L, while the right hand half is a Mn(II) complex of LH₃ with trigonal prismatic geometry.
