However, Tetanus vaccine is usually administered as part of the DTP triple vaccine. Side effects and adverse reactions to this include:
Local reactions (erythema and induration)
Fever and drowsiness
Hypersensitivity (severe local reactions hours after injection)
Anaphylaxis (severe and sudden allergy)
High Fever
Relentless crying
Seizures, encephalopathy (somewhat rare and disputed, it must be said)
Tetanus vaccine administed on it's own (generally) has fewer and less severe side effects.
You may be interested to know that several people have been in contact with me just recently citing reactions to tetanus vaccine. If you have suffered an unpleasant reactions (fever/headaches/sensitivity) they may be related to a bad batch of vaccine that has been distributed by ... some drug company.

For what it's worth, my advice...(DTP vaccination)
It goes without saying that I recommend the acellular DTP vaccine (i.e. diphtheria- tetanus-acellular pertussis vaccine). It has been licenced in the US for years and your physician (hopefully) should be aware of it (for example, Infanrix (Smith Cline)).Take plenty of Vitamins A and E at least a month before and after vaccination (typically 0.5-1.0g/day). This applies to children taking the oral DTP vaccine too.
There was a report in the news of the 27th Feb 1998 about the MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella (German Measles)) vaccine which was linked to infant bowel disorder which potential causes brain development problems leading to autism. It is clear that parents ought to be aware of this link, but equally clear that they should not stop their children being administed the vaccine. [More later...]. For now, try: 1 and 2
