Dr.
Bingyuan Lu
Post Doctoral Researcher
Bingyuan is a multidisciplinary researcher specialising in chemistry, pharmaceutics, microfluidics, sensor, and mechanical engineering. He completed a BEng in Chemical Engineering at East China University of Science and Technology, followed by a first-class honours MSc and PhD in Chemistry at the University of Hull, focusing on smart drug carrier fabrication via microfluidics.
Since then, Bingyuan took up several research fellow positions at Queen’s University Belfast, University of Southampton and University College London, working on continuous nanomedicine manufacturing, microfluidic sensors, and personalised medicine. He joined the Cronin group in Jan 2025 as Research Fellow in Digital Robotic Chemistry. His work advances innovation in autonomous microfluidics to explore combinatorial explosion in chemical space and uncover selection mechanism in the origin of life.
