Post Doctoral Researcher
Originally from Taiwan, I completed my PhD in synthetic organic chemistry at Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof. Alan C. Spivey, working on phase tagged germanium chemistry for the synthesis of bioactive compounds. I then undertook research positions with Prof. K. C. Nicolaou and Prof. David Chen (A*STAR, Singapore), Prof. Stephen Clark (Glasgow) and Prof. Andrew Lawrence (Edinburgh), focusing on the total synthesis of complex natural products and related bio-inspired methodology in synthetic chemistry. At the University of Aberdeen, I was appointed as a Marie Curie Research Fellow focused on small molecule drug discovery and the development of novel PET tracers for molecular imaging in the brain.
In 2022, I transitioned to industry, working as a senior chemist in the R&D section at Chemify Ltd., a University spinout company focusing on digitising synthetic chemistry, automating multi-step organic synthesis, and providing CRO services for drug discovery. In November 2025, I joined the Cronin group to pioneer a natural product-oriented Chemputer synthesis platform, integrating machine learning and robotic synthesis to accelerate the discovery and optimisation of bioactive compounds.
