Dominika Urbanczyk

Postgraduate Student

I obtained my BSc in chemistry at Jagiellonian University. I was working in Paweł Wydro’s group under the guidance of Marzena Mach, studying the interaction between bioactive cationic lipid and components of animal cell membrane using Langmuir monolayers as model cell membranes. I continued my MSc in this group exploring mechanism of action of naturally occurring anticancer compound (geraniol) on model cell membranes using Langmuir monolayers and liposomes. In 2021 I was a part of XDL Summer School organised by the Cronin Group where I helped with development of Chemical Description Language (χDL) and the corresponding ChemIDE web application. Following year, I was given an opportunity of summer internship in the Cronin Group where I contributed to the standardisation of chemical procedure annotation rules, help in the production of a XDL database in the physical chemistry domain as well as laboratory based automated organic synthesis. In 2023 I joined the Cronin Group to pursue my PhD.
