Robert Rauschen
Postgraduate Student
I obtained my undergraduate degree from the RWTH Aachen University with a Bachelor thesis on gold nanoparticle synthesis. I continued my studies with research internships in Cologne about rotational spectroscopy on astrochemically relevant molecules and in Heidelberg where I simulated autocatalytic reaction networks. I then returned to the RWTH Aachen analysing ion migration in perovskites with force-field methods in my Master thesis.
I came across the topic of chemical evolution during a summer school in 2019 and continued reading about that topic until in 2021 I finally decided to join the group of Lee Cronin to turn this interest into actual research.
In my spare time I enjoy doing sports, especially basketball and windsurfing, and I very much like dancing – be it ballroom, Hip-Hop, Salsa, or just clubbing.
