As a true Scot through and through I recently graduated with a BSc(Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow and I’m currently undertaking an internship in the Cronin Group . My project focuses on medically relevant chemical transformations and is conducted in collaboration with the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). The aim is to validate the feasibility of common synthetic methods used in medicinal chemistry. The research explores a wide range of substrates and reactions, addressing challenges such as solid formation, inert atmosphere requirements, and product solubility. My work involves the complete development and automation of the experimental process — from setup and execution to work-up, purification, isolation, and identification of reaction products.
Outside the lab, I’m a passionate Formula 1 fan, an avid reader (usually accompanied by my cat), and I enjoy playing story-based video games.
