The Effect of Heterogeneity:
Does heterogeneity reduce the resolution to which crystals diffract?
The resolution limit is determined by the crystal contacts.
Same crystal contacts - Same resolution?
To improve resolution you must find a new crystal form where
the molecules are packed together more tightly or have more extensive
crystal contacts
Crystals can accomodate heterogeneity such
as carbohydrate chains in glycosylated proteins.
Why would crystals of glycosylated proteins diffract poorly?
