Niclas Grocholski
Postgraduate Student
I obtained my undergraduate degree in business chemistry - a degree programme combining economics studies with chemistry - from the University of Kiel in Germany following a bachelor’s thesis on the self-assembly of photoswitchable metal-organic cages. I am now studying towards a master’s degree in chemistry as well as one in business chemistry and have spent the last year abroad at the University of Aberdeen. As part of my master’s degree in business chemistry, I came in contact with programming for the first time and have since been involved in projects focusing on various topics such as supply chain management, traffic prediction, AI in medicine, and LC-MS analysis. I have joined the Cronin group for a four-month research stay to take up on this to gain additional insights into the possibilities of digitalisation in chemistry. In my spare time, I am involved in projects on educational justice and do Latin, Standard, and Swing partner dancing.
