Postgraduate Student
I was born in Peshawar, Pakistan into an extended Pathan family. I received a funded offer from St. Georges, University of London in 2017 enabling me to study for an MSc in global health, Infectious Diseases and Immunology. Graduating in 2019 I supplemented my degree work with programming and ML certifications which I implemented in modelling epidemiological records of patient Antibody counts following diverse SARS-CoV-2 vaccine regimens. This period was invaluable in developing my programming language abilities to model databases of unique health records directly pertaining to post-vaccine Ab titres.
I joined the Cronin Group at Glasgow University in 2023 as a visiting student preparing to undertake a full time doctorate. This is to be based on my ongoing proof-of-concept study within the group, enhancing microbicidal activity of natural AMPs I design, followed by training an LLM model with the study’s novel peptide repository to increase confidence within in silico AMP generation. I hope ultimately to finalise a doctoral project using the group’s prior research on ML protein ligand docking to better understand human immune response to tissue grafts.
When otherwise occupied I like watercolour painting, Daft Punk and wildlife.
