Zack Geary
Postgraduate Student
I grew up in the Isle of Man, living there until I moved to the UK in 2016 to study pharmaceutical chemistry BSc at the University of Leicester. After graduating I worked in a bar while reading academic papers in my spare time with an aim to go back to university at some point. I was made redundant for a long time after COVID hit before working in an STI testing lab as a key worker for the majority of the pandemic, during which I started to become fascinated with the work of the Cronin Group. After attending Prof. Cronin’s ‘lock-down lectures’, I made a serious attempt to join the group which Prof. Cronin took me up on. I am now undergoing a research MSc under the preliminary thesis ‘Investigating Inorganic Information’. Additionally, I was diagnosed with ADHD in the summer of 2020 and now aim to be a representational figure, as well as an activist promoting awareness of and compassion for people with the condition.
